Adding a Calendar Monthly Rate

Park IT includes the addition of two extra rates that can be used in the 'Rate Schedule' : The Monthly rate which operates on a 'Calendar Month' basis and a 'Single Night' rate which is for those parks that wish to levy the nightly rate for a single night stay.

The following is the introduction to setting up and using the Calendar Month Rate.

1. The first thing to do after installation of the upgrade is to set the new calendar month rate in the rate editor of each category where the monthly rate will be applied. Be sure to enter the word exactly as shown in the diagram with a capital 'M'. To create the new line click onto the + (plus) button. Do not create more than the one line.

It is also important to also enter the appropriate daily and weekly rate. Should your client leave early or finish the booking in less than a Calendar month, then the payment calculator will know what to do and what rate to apply. Remember to use the 'Post Edit' button after all new information is entered - this locks in the information.

2. Next is using the 'Booking Calculator' to apply the Monthly rate to a new booking. At first glance the booking calculator appears to be the same as it always was, however when a monthly rate is applicable simply mouse over the word 'Weekly' and you will notice that it turns into a button. If you click it, it will change to 'Monthly' and display the monthly rate that you set in the Rate Editor.

3. Next thing to know is how to take the monthly payment - this is our recommended method. Right click onto the booking and select 'Receive Payment'. The start date will auto appear in the start panel, now you need to enter a calender month. Do this by simply clicking the month in the 'Finish' panel (the month will highlite) then use your 'Up' arrow on your keyboard to progress to the next month.

The calculator will look like this (below) after you hit the up arrow. If your client is paying for two or more months then just press the up arrow the appropriate number of times.
